Açaí bowls have been on Dubai menus long enough that almost every café, juice bar, and health food spot now offers one. The quality range is enormous. At one end you have thick, deeply flavoured organic pulp from Brazil topped with real ingredients. At the other you have a watered-down purple smoothie in a bowl with a sprinkle of commercial granola. They look similar in a photo. They are completely different experiences.
If you want to understand what makes a genuinely great açaí bowl, and where to find one in Dubai, here is what you need to know.
What Real Açaí Actually Tastes Like
The best way to spot low quality açaí is to order a plain spoonful of the blended base before toppings. Real açaí has a deep, earthy flavour with a slight bitterness that sits somewhere between dark chocolate and wild berries. It is not sweet on its own. It should be thick enough that it holds the shape of the spoon when you lift it.
Diluted or low-grade açaí tastes faintly purple. It is thin, almost drinkable, with very little flavour character. The toppings carry the bowl because the base has nothing to offer.
Projeto Açaí sources 100% organic açaí directly from farming families in Pará, Brazil, the state where the berry originates. Our pulp is cold pressed without additives, shipped frozen, and served at the correct texture without excessive blending liquid. You can taste the difference from the first spoonful.
What the Toppings Tell You
A café that takes its bowl seriously also takes its toppings seriously. Commercial granola from a bulk supplier goes soft quickly and adds little flavour. Homemade granola, made in smaller batches with whole nuts and proper toasting, stays crunchy and adds real texture.
At Projeto Açaí, our granola is made in-house. Our nut butters, including almond, peanut, and pistachio varieties, are also made from scratch. These details matter because the bowl is the sum of its parts. A great base with poor toppings is still a disappointing bowl.
Where to Find a Great Açaí Bowl in Dubai
We have three locations across Dubai. Dubai Marina is our flagship, on Al Hubob Street in the Marina. Sheikh Zayed Road serves the central business district crowd. Motor City covers the active residential community around Dubai Autodrome.
All three locations serve the same organic açaí sourced directly from Pará, the same in-house granola, and the same menu. The experience is consistent whether you are at the Marina or Motor City.
If you have not tried a properly made açaí bowl before, come in and try the Everton: organic açaí, banana, granola, and honey. Simple build, no distractions. You will understand immediately what a real bowl should taste like.
